Foreign worker at Non Violent Peace Force evicted from the country

2010-08-26
The Defence Ministry has ordered a Korean national lady involved in humanitarian work at the Non Violent Peace Force, an NGO that has been operating in the country for several years, to leave the country before the 30th of this month.
A senior official at the Immigration and Emigration Department said the decision was taken based on a secret report handed over by the state intelligence services on the respective lady.
A director and a coordinating officer attached to the same organization were ordered to leave the country by the Defence Ministry in July this year.
Following the Cabinet decision to hand over the NGOs that were under the purview of the Social Services Ministry to the Defence Ministry, about five foreign NGO personnel have been asked to leave the country.
