Basil Rajapaksa, Maithripala Sirisena and Dullas Alahapperuma are displeased

Click Here-WHAT'S HOT IN SRI LANKA: "Gampaha District Leader and Minister Basil Rajapaksa, SLFP General Secretary and Minister Maithripala Sirisena and SLFP Treasurer and Minister Dullas Alahapperuma are displeased with the re-appointment of Mervyn Silva as a deputy minister. Mervyn was removed from his deputy ministerial post following charges that he had tied a Samurdhi officer to a tree, sources from the SLFP headquarters said.

The disciplinary committee that inquired into the incident had said the whole incident was an act to encourage people to participate in the dengue prevention programme and therefore Mervyn should be re-appointed to the post.
